AMP creates new role of AMP NZ chief economist

Monday, July 11th 2011, 8:01AM

Bevan Graham has been appointed to the newly created role of AMP New Zealand Chief Economist.

The role was created after the merger of AMP and AXA.

Graham was most recently Chief Economist at AXA Global Investors and has held a number of senior economist positions in the public and private sector.

"The merger means we now advise many more New Zealanders with assets invested locally and globally. Bevan's deep knowledge and understanding of the global economy and his unique perspective on the Trans Tasman market will be very beneficial for our clients and the newly merged company," AMP managing director Jack Regan says.

"Our aim is to create a new force in financial services in New Zealand, offering real competition to the banks in wealth management through a broader and deeper range of products, more competitive pricing and a single-minded focus on the provision of quality financial advice," Regan says.
