New director for Plus4

Plus4 Insurance Solutions (Plus4), the national insurance broking and financial adviser group, today announced that Roy Norris has been appointed a director of the cooperative group’s board.

Wednesday, December 16th 2015, 10:57AM

Norris joins existing directors Ross Collett, Jason Hennessey, Peter Rickards and Grant Uridge on the Plus4 board.

Norris joined Plus4 in March this year and has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector.

Educated at the University of Stellenbosch, he began his financial services career following graduation with Old Mutual PLC, in South Africa. Over the next decade, he rose through the ranks to manage the group’s Sandton Broker Branch in Johannesburg, one of the company’s largest branches in South Africa.

In 2001, he immigrated to New Zealand having been offered the role of general manager operations with Fidelity Life Assurance Company where he managed a team of over 70 staff, supporting approximately 1000 advisers and 40,000 policy holders. Norris remained with Fidelity Life until 2012 holding a series of senior management roles with the company culminating as Head of Distribution.

“Roy is a highly regarded member of the Plus4 group. With his extensive industry background and the move to running his own agency, Roy brings a fantastic skill set to the Plus4 board," Plus4’s chairman Grant Uridge said.

Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has over 30 advisers working from 12 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. Group members, who have no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, use independent research to identify the solutions that best meet their individual and business clients’ requirements. Plus4 members work predominantly with small to medium sized enterprises, their owners and their accountants.
