New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has signalled superannuation will be a key part of his party's election campaign, however the policy is yet to be announced.
Indications so far are that it will be very similar to what was proposed last election, and defeated in the 1997 Referendum. That was a compulsory scheme where everyone had their own accounts.
NZ First is also calling for the Office of the Retirement Commissioner to be "retired", and New Zealand Super to be returned to its old level.
