• Submissions on the Government's proposal to partially pre-fund NZ Super are underway

• Finance Minister Michael Cullen last week made a speech that has been described as one of the most positive made by a government on the topic for years. "It was the most positive speech I have heard for many years on retirement funding," a chief executive of a major financial services company said afterwards.

• The National Party has finally made some progress in developing its super policy for the next election.
