The AAA Board has recently appointed Wayne Smith on an interim, part-time basis to drive its new strategic direction.
Smith previously held senior management and chief executive roles in Wellington although has recently relocated to Blenheim to enjoy the Marlborough lifestyle. He has had more than 20 years management and executive experience with a strong corporate and general management background.
His previous role, for the past four years, was as chief executive with Tranzqual, and prior to that he spent seven years as a group manager at the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.
He has a DBA and MBA from Monash Mt Eliza Business School, studied governance at Harvard Business School and strategic leadership at Oxford. He has worked extensively at the governance and strategic level. While new to the financial advisory sector his work with the AAA Board has already identified a number of areas where AAA may be able to position itself to take advantage of the major changes sweeping across the sector, AAA chairman John Wood says.
