The man who blew the whistle on Bernie Madoff is to visit New Zealand for two events being hosted by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).
Harry Markopolos, who uncovered evidence over a nine year period that Bernie Madoff’s wealth management business was actually a massive Ponzi scheme, is speaking at an SFO-organised Economic Crime Seminar in February.
The SFO has dealt with six actual or alleged Ponzi schemes in the past two years.
