Bowkett was appointed to the business development manager role in September last year. He is a former investment development manager at Sovereign.

Bowkett confirmed he was leaving on a three-month sabbatical to Ireland, which Synergy had known he was planning before he started the role.

He said he would look at advisory practices in Europe to determine what was best practice in other parts of the world. He is arranging meetings with advisers, fund managers and business owners.  “I’m keen to check out smart beta, which is an approach Synergy endorses.

His Irish wife and children will spend five months in total in Ireland.

He said he hoped to bring lessons back that could be implemented here. “As a BDM, I think you’ve got to add value.”

Bowkett said he would be back in August, “raring to go”.

I'm not sure how many Irish bars serve Smart Beta... nevertheless, hopefully Aaron & his family will tempted to return back to the grind of BDM'ing in NZ

All the best Aaron I am sure you'll learn a lot from the experience. I'll look forward to your return as I am sure Syneryg will.
