Aegis boss moves to Sovereign role

Sovereign has appointed Angela Busby as chief officer People and Culture.

In this role she oversees the development and implementation of strategic and operational human resources, people capabilities, diversity, and inclusion.

Busby joins Sovereign from sister company ASB, where she is currently in the role of general manager ASB Securities and Aegis. She has more than 25 years’ financial markets experience leading teams and developing strategies, with career highlights including projects for ASB’s Aegis, Treasury and ASB Securities teams and holding an active role in developing and establishing Whakaterehia (ASB's Maori Leadership programme). Of Maori-Pakeha descent, Angela is Te Rarawa and Ngati Tūwharetoa.



“Angela is motivated to challenge and exceed customer expectations and has experience in building great teams," Sovereign chief executive Nick Stanhope says. "She will bring a great deal of experience into this critical role and build on the strong work that has been done in creating a diverse and high performing culture at Sovereign.
