It has now considered the draft plan and recommendations for how the new body, designed to represent all financial advisers, will achieve the outcomes identified during the consultation stage.

The working group is operating under a 100 working-day development process.

The planning stage of that work drew to a close last week.

It is now in its fourth and final stage, of operations. That will draw to a close in early May.

In a statement, the working group said its members, and other interested parties, had made it clear they wanted to see the new body up and running, and working towards the priorities it had identified as important.

“We’ve listened to that sentiment and we’re focused on sharing the big plan and the finer details as soon as possible, so that we can get on with bringing Financial Advice New Zealand to life,” it said.

“The Working Group will be ready to outline the plan, first with IFA, PAA and NZFAA members and then with the industry, in late May and early June.

“It has been a necessarily comprehensive development process, and we thank everyone who has participated to date. Your input has been greatly appreciated and has played a crucial role in getting us to this point. We look forward to sharing the outcome of what has been a highly collaborative process.”
