Tasman district ratepayers could face a rates hike as their council considers $13.8 million worth of new community projects.

Councillors have been told they may have to juggle their 2004/2005 budget to help fund a $2.6 million sportsfield for Murchison, a $3 million pool for Motueka, and a $1.7 million community centre for Moutere Hills.
They join the Saxton Field redevelopment ($2 million), Richmond ASB Aquatic Centre ($4.1 million), and regional sewerage upgrades ($400,000).
