The Nelson City Council has analysed the 907 responses to its Nelson Urban Growth Strategy, showing support for denser development in the Wood, Stoke, Atawhai, the hospital area and Tahunanui.

Of the 896 people who responded to a question on how Nelson should grow, 54 percent wanted growth within urban areas, 40 percent thought the city should grow out and six percent suggested doing nothing.
