Milford appoints new head for bond funds

Milford Asset Management has appointed a new lead portfolio manager for its trans-Tasman bond fund and its global corporate bond fund.

Anthony Ip is the new fixed income portfolio manager in its Sydney office. He brings more than 18 years of experience in credit research and trading across Asia and Australia at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup. He joins Milford from Citigroup, where he was a director and desk head managing the Australian credit trading business. Prior to that he was a sell-side credit strategist for Deutsche Bank Australia.

Ip will be lead portfolio manager for the Milford Trans-Tasman Bond Fund and the Milford Global Corporate Bond Fund as well as having credit analyst responsibilities across several Milford Funds.

Milford’s executive director and chief investment officer Wayne Gentle says Ip brings a depth of experience across Asia and Australia, which will be leveraged to continue upholding our excellence in fund performance as Milford continues to grow.
