Tim McGuinness has won the job of managing the combined Royal and SunAlliance and Norwich Union Investment Management funds.
Together the two groups have about $1.5 billion under management.
The funds are being kept separate at present but will be merged sometime in the future.
McGuinness was previously NU Investments chief investment officer.
