ANZ has appointed Bernard Hodgetts chief economist of the ANZ Banking Group. He returns to the bank after working as an adviser to the Labour Department's labour market policy group.
Hodgetts began his career as a research officer with the Reserve Bank in 1986 and joined ANZ in 1995.
He has held a number of positions with the bank including senior economist and deputy chief economist.
