Council of Trade Unions secretary Angela Foulkes has been appointed as the chair of the government's latest task force on superannuation.
The Superannuation 2000 Taskforce is made up of 10 members, and all the political parties will be invited to supply a member, the minister of Social Services, Work and Income, Roger Sowry says.
Any parties that choose not to join will still receive working papers and minutes from the group, Sowry says.
The announcement of this latest taskforce comes 12 months after the Jeff Todd-chaired Periodic Review Group (PRG) reported to the Government on the state of the country's superannuation regime.

Since the PRG report there has been little political progress on superannuation. In the words of Retirement Commissioner Colin Blair says the country may have gone backwards on the issue.
Sowry, when announcing the make-up of the latest taskforce, has called for political consensus on the issue of superannuation.
" Politics must be set aside to solve this problem and I hope all parties will seize the opportunity to be involved in the process," he says.
He says the taskforce is charged with putting New Zealand's retirement income policies on a sustainable, affordable and certain basis, and taking the PRG report one step further.
The other members of the taskforce are: ANZ chief executive Murray Horn (deputy chair), Retirement Commissioner Colin Blair, AMP chief executive Rodney Cook, Investment Savings and Insurance Association deputy chair Paul Fyfe, Victoria University professor of economics Gary Hawke, Employers' Federation chief executive Ann Knowles, journalist Alison Mau, Senior Citizens Advisory Council chair Lys Noble and Maori policy consultant Rahera Ohia.
