IPAC says under the awards process funds need to meet the following criteria, as at May 1, to be eligible for nomination. To pass these screens a fund must have;

New Zealand residency status
Active management
Minimum three year performance history
Key person retention of minimum two years.
Generally available to the public
No costs to the investor outside those costs which impact on fund performance
No potentially high upfront costs
No lock in period of more than one year
Minimum initial investment of no more than $5000
Fund mandate consistency (reasonable)
Minimum fund size $10 million
An IPAC 4 or 5 star rating within the past six months.
