Robert Goss, the president and CEO of the CFP Board, surprised the industry in the US this by announcing his decision to retire after nine years.
Goss tendered his resignation over the weekend at the Board's May meeting.
In his term he has overseen the expansion of the CFP into the global financial planning community.
