Stephen Eaton new Trustee Corp Assn Chairman

Stephen Eaton, general manager of Perpetual Trust, has been appointed chairman of the Trustee Corporations Association of New Zealand.

All trustee companies in New Zealand - Perpetual Trust, Guardian Trust, Public Trust, New Zealand Permanent Trustees and Tower Trust - are members. Collectively they represent client assets in excess of $50 billion.

Eaton has extensive experience in the trustee industry, and has been general manager of Perpetual Trust - a Christchurch-based national trustee and financial service company - for the past 14 years.

"In this role I will meet with other financial service industry groups, such as the Investment, Savings and Insurance Association which represents fund managers and insurance companies. I will also deal with government officials, members of parliament and government agencies," says Eaton.

The appointment is for two years. Eaton takes over from out-going chairman Tony Morgan of Guardian Trust.
