Liquid is a large website which sells financial services products to the public including managed funds, shares, insurance and mortgages.

While it is owned by AMP, it offers products from a about two dozen competing financial services organisations.

General manager Mark Ennis says the site is working on developing some added value services, with a focus on business.

"We are currently working on some pilot projects that will see Liquid partnering with corporates to offer special work site deals for staff. We will also be partnering with advisers to increase the breadth of lending products and services they are able to offer their clients."

Liquid has just celebrated its first anniversary. Since launching it has bought mortgage broking business E-Loan, included a number of new products on its menu such as forestry, and is involved in the money channel on Television New Zealand's nzoom website.

Ennis, who took over running the business at the end of last year, says he is pleased with how Liquid has developed and grown.

In terms of actual visitor numbers, by the end of February 2002 more than 120,000 people had visited the site, with the most popular areas being investments, property, and estate planning.

"As expected, people using Liquid are Internet savvy and comfortable buying online. We are continuing to grow amongst our target segments and are looking forward to a busy year in 2002," says Ennis.
