NZSE's new role

Wednesday, July 31st 2002, 6:40AM
The Stock Exchange has appointed a communications and marketing manager as the latest step in chief executive Mark Weldon's revamp of the organisation.
Former broker Geoff Brown takes up the role this week. He has an extensive history in institutional broking, including a stint in New York.
Brown agrees with Weldon that more companies need to list on the NZSE to make it more vibrant. Also he considers a public eduction role is vital for the exchange.
The NZSE also needed to be more active in the savings area, he says.
