As general manager Carroll is responsible for all operational aspects of the life business including claims, product development, underwriting and customer service.
“I have appointed a strong, tactical manager who has the full strategic capability to address the challenges that the company has faced over the past 12 months, particularly in the area of operations,” Asteron chief executive Dennis Fox says.
“The company has put in a lot of work on quality issues over the past 12 months and we anticipate a significant improvement in the following 12 – 18 months as a result of restructuring our operations function.”
Carroll has been with the organisation for 16 years, joining Sun Alliance in the UK in 1988. Previously he was the general manager, pricing and underwriting, personal lines.
Prior to this he held the role of director, life and funds management in Asia, as well as product development actuary.
