REL bid not a done deal
The takeover of the Rural Equities Ltd, the company with the management contract to the NZ Rural Property Trust, is far from finished despite some announcements last week.

Sir Selwyn Cushing’s company H&G upped its offer for 50.01% of the company to $1.60 last week and says it now has sufficient acceptances. However the takeover requires shareholder approval and it is unknown whether that will eventuate as H&G and its associated companies are unlikely to be able to vote.

St Laurence Group has made a rival bid for REL shares.
