Urbus Properties has appointed Hamish Plimmer as chief executive officer for its management company, Urbus Property Management Ltd.

Plimmer is currently chief financial officer for Urbus and will assume the dual role of CFO and CEO. He takes over from existing CEO, Murray Barclay, whose resignation was announced in July.

Urbus Management Limited fulfils the corporate and property management functions for listed property investment company, Urbus Properties Limited.

Chairman Denis Thom said Mr Plimmer's appointment was a clear-cut decision. "His abilities and experience with the company over a long period of time make him ideally suited to the role and an obvious choice," he said.

Plimmer joined the company as financial controller in 1997.
