Absolute Capital expands team

Absolute Capital has expanded its internal research capabilities and strengthened both its investment and distribution teams with three new appointments.

The newly expanded team includes Nick Buckland – head of retail distribution, Matt Johnson, portfolio manager and Harry Bhoja, quantitative analyst.

Buckland joins Absolute Capital with eight years experience in the funds management industry. He was previously employed by AMP Capital Investors and BT Funds Management.

Buckland joins Absolute Capital at a time of planned expansion with the development of new retail products high on the list of priorities.

Johnson has joined Absolute Capital in the role of portfolio manager from Commonwealth Bank of Australia where he gained six years experience in structured product development and analysis. In his new role he is responsible for a number of new product initiatives and is providing portfolio management support to Bill Entwistle, head of structured debt investments.

Bhoja has more than eight years experience in the financial markets industry, covering areas of risk management, quantitative analysis and performance measurement.

He will assist Andrew Grauberg, head of hedge fund investments, in the quantitative process involved with portfolio construction along with providing valuable IT/programming experience to further develop the foundation for Absolute Capital’s investment process.
