Weyman Moy looking after AIA

Bernard McCrea has announced his intention to step aside from his position as general manager of AIA New Zealand.

McCrea will now concentrate upon a new distributional role, the exact nature of which is yet to be determined. Replacing McCrea on an interim basis as acting country manager for New Zealand is Weyman Moy.

Moy brings with him 32 years experience in the insurance industry, including three years with AIG based in Hong Kong.

"Moy’s recent experience, gained in his role of Vice President (agency and distribution) for the Asia Pacific region will prove particularly valuable to AIA New Zealand during this period of transition. Over the next few months, Moy will work to assess the needs for our business in New Zealand and lay the foundations for his permanent successor," AIA says.

"As far as AIA New Zealand is concerned it is very much ‘business as usual’," the company says. "AIA’s parent company, AIG, remains committed to supporting and developing its business in New Zealand."
