AIA makes three new appointments

American International Assurance (AIA) has made three new appointments. Nadine Tereora (pictured) is its new national operations manager.

She is well known and respected throughout the industry having worked in New Zealand and Australia over the past 10 years in a variety of operations roles. Her experience spans underwriting, new business, policy administration as well as establishing start-up operations departments for new insurers.

Murray Amies has been appointed as head of risk.

"This is both a senior and pivotal position within the organisation, enabling the proactive management of all risk related issues," AIA chief executive Nicholas Scarlett says.

Amies has more than 20 years local and international experience with various insurers and reinsurers, working in underwriting claims management and product design. He is a qualified underwriter, a long-time member of ALUCA and is a senior associate of ANZIIF.

Brannan Hunter has recently joined the company as business solutions manager. Originally from South Africa Hunter worked for one of the largest Mutual Life Company’s and led numerous process and system implementation projects. Further to this she has held several key positions within operations.
