AXA appoints CIO

AXA has appointed a new chief investment officer for its Australian and New Zealand operations.

The CIO, Mark Dutton, has 25 years’ experience in investment and asset management, including senior roles at AMP Henderson Global Investors and GIO Asset Management. He is currently CIO with AXA-owned ipac asset management.

Dutton will be responsible for strategy in investment management for Australia and New Zealand, as well as providing leadership, advice and input on investment objectives, policies and strategies for AXA’s entire range of funds.

Dutton will also be attempting to increase AXA’s profile in the market, through areas such as investment market commentary, economic issues analysis and investment products. Dutton will work with AXA’s wealth management team on the design and management of AXA investment products.

Dutton will report to Les Owen, group chief executive.
