Super team strengthened

Trans-Tasman law firm, Phillips Fox has strengthened its funds management and superannuation team with the appointment of Gwen Rashbrooke to senior associate.

Rashbrooke is an experienced managed funds and superannuation lawyer. Her practice includes advising the trustees of employment-based superannuation schemes on various matters including trust deed amendments, negotiation of administration agreements, scheme transfers and regulatory compliance.

She recently advised the promoters of a retail superannuation scheme on a major trust deed revision and two Crown financial institutions on the introduction of the Crown Entities Act 2004. She has also recently advised a superannuation trustee on a new structure for investment management and administration and advised in relation to the interpretation and enforcement of a third party service contract.

Before joining Phillips Fox, Rashbrooke worked for four years at the high profile London firm, Slaughter and May, where she advised trustees and employers on all aspects of operating superannuation schemes, including investment management and custody arrangements.

She is based at Phillips Fox’s Wellington office where she joins partners Alasdair McBeth, Rachel Taylor and Tracey Cross. Rashbrooke is a member of the Policy Committee of Women in Super.
