Westpac has increased its six-month fixed interest rates 10 basis points this morning to 5.59% and its two-year rate has jumped 21 points to 7.20%.  These new rates are still the lowest offered by our major banks.
 
In www.landlords.co.nz news, we see New Zealand house prices held at a 10-year high last month, while total sales edged lower, suggesting the property market is consolidating at a higher level.
