NZMBA Broker of the Year Bruce Patten was "surprised and rapt" to win the title last Friday night after he had cast aside expectations following six years of being a finalist.

"I felt speechless which is unusual for me," he says.

Patten believes his business Loan Market, was successful this time because of its ability to adapt to change, evolving every year since the business started in 2002.

The latest changes implemented have been the incorporation of insurance 12-months ago which has been hugely successful and work towards regulation as he completes the National Certificate of Financial Services Level 5.

The First runner-up for Broker of the year was Hayden Marshall from the Finance Marshall and the second runner up was Paul Fuller from Prosper Group.

The other award winners of the night were Geoff Bawden who received the Geoff Chong Memorial Award and Westpac which won the Gary Dell Isola Lender of the Year Award.
