Banks loosen lending criteria

Borrowers will be relieved to see that banks are finally becoming a little more flexible with lending, testing the waters with high-quality borrowers and launching spring campaigns.

In Expert Views, economists do not expect the Official Cash Rate (OCR) to increase next week, with third quarter inflation being well-behaved.

We also look at the big picture for borrowers that are looking to float, showing the dramatic journey of the floating rate since 2008 and looking at where it is forecast to be in a  year's time.
