Industry great passes away

Money Concepts says "sadly, we have lost one of our industry's great characters".

Coe was one of New Zealand's pioneering financial planners and was recognised as one of the best business risk management advisers in the industry.

Originally Coe was the founder of several farming groups, and achieved a high level of success to be awarded with a "Winston Churchill Fellowship" in 1975.

In the early 1980's he owned a small merchant bank, then in 1987 he became the first franchisee for Money Concepts New Zealand (originally established by Graham Rich).

Coe became the managing director of the business in late 1987 and built the business to be one of the most successful Money Concepts franchises amongst the 700 offices worldwide.

Over the years Bruce had recruited and mentored many industry leading advisers, pioneered public financial planning seminars, in-house advisory services for accountants, and high level business risk management advisory services.

Very sad news indeed. Bruce's support for Sovereign in the early days in Wellington was the foundation of the company's presence in the area. Likewise, his involvement with PIS proved to be important in generating momentum for the organisation's progress in NZ. His enthusiastic response to the Ginger Group initiative was greatly encouraging and helped confirm our strategies. Bruce always had time for a a quiet word and he will be greatly missed. Condolences to all family, colleagues and friends.

Money Concepts New Zealand managing director Bruce Coe died suddenly last Saturday.
