Partners Life applauds Klap appointment

New life company Partners Life has announced the appointment of Boyd Klap as chairman of the board.

Partners Life said Klap has a long and distinguished career in the life assurance and pensions industries, having previously held the roles of chief executive at both Prudential New Zealand and the Life Offices Association.

Klap will join managing director Naomi Ballantyne, director of sales Pauline Prescott and fellow founding executives Richard Coon (finance director) and Chris Coon (actuary).

Prescott started her financial career in the UK with American Express before joingn Private Patients Plan. She has worked in Belguim and Asia before moving to the United States.

In the US she took a key position with Marsh USAA with in the Nationla sales organisation and a few years later joined AIG and was transferred to Hong Kong as vice president ofmarketing worldwide for the life companies. Three years later she assumed responsibility for managing AIG's top six Asian accident and helath businesses worth more than $1 billion.

The company is set to launch in March and promises to fill the gaps in the current market - including stepping up to support independent financial advisers.
