Hewes rejoins Sovereign

Michael Hewes has been appointed Sovereign's Corporate Sales Manager.

Hewes brings nearly two decades of experience in the New Zealand insurance industry to the role, including six years as Sovereign's Marketing Manager - Risk (1996-2003).

"We are delighted that Michael is returning to Sovereign to take on such a pivotal role," general manager corporate distribution Bernie McCrea says.

"He has an impressive track record in leadership, financial and people management and strategic planning, as well as in sales and marketing. His wide experience in the New Zealand industry, including at Sovereign, will make him a great asset to us."

Hewes began his insurance career in 1994, as a relationship manager in the financial services brokerage Financial Fitness. He has since held key positions in several New Zealand insurance companies - Sovereign, Suncorp Life and AIA/AIG - covering a wide spectrum from sales and marketing to risk management, business development and actuarial management.
