It remains quiet on the rates front, but I am wondering if that will all start to change soon. Westpac commented yesterday that it thinks the window of opportunity to switch from floating to fixed is closing quickly. Also swap rates have fallen a little last week. It would not be surprising to see one of the banks, particularly the challenger brands, get into the market with some attractive fixed rate offers.
