The former director of Auckland-based Strategic Planning Group Limited,  Andrew Hrothgar Robinson, is being investigated after concerns were raised by the Financial Markets Authority.

Acting chief executive of the Serious Fraud Office Simon McArley said an evaluation of the information available concluded that there were reasonable grounds to believe that an offence of serious fraud may have been committed in relation to investment funds received by  Robinson.

The FMA opened an investigation into Robinson late last year.

On December 21 it cancelled his AFA licence and Robinson stopped being a director of Strategic Planning Group two days later.

The FMA’s investigation continues.
