Buoyant market tempts new brokers

Auckland’s buoyant property market is prompting more brokers to enter the industry, says Loan Market’s chief executive David Hart.

He said there had been 40 or 50 new brokers join the group since the start of the year.  “There are a lot of new people coming into the industry, and they are highly-qualified.”

The feeling in the industry was very positive, he said, driven by publicity about the increasing number of property sales, and rising house prices, in Auckland.

“It’s way up on last year.”

He said new brokers were coming from around the country, not just from Auckland.
