Rhys Gwilym has joined NZIG as business partner and Chief Operating Officer. Rhys, a Welshman completed his MBA at Manchester Business School with Ralph Stewart between 1996-1998. He has considerable operational and marketing experience with blue chip multi-nationals.
He has worked as a management consultant, marketing director and executive responsible for operations. Gwilym is project managing the business through the start up and product development phase, talking responsibility for implementing the operating model and supporting the product development phase.
NZIG recently submitted its initial draft application for an insurance license with the Reserve Bank and a binding tax ruling with the Inland Revenue Department.
Murray Hilder has joined NZIG Appointed Actuary (Consulting). He is a Fellow of New Zealand Society of Actuaries, Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of London and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
Hilder has more than 30 years experience in actuarial consulting and senior management, mainly in the areas of financial services, risk modeling, information technology and international business. Murray is supported by Global actuarial firm Milliman (consultants to NZIG) who are specialists in variable annuities. Milliman is among the world's largest providers of actuarial and related products and services. Founded in 1947, Milliman is an independent firm with offices in major cities around the globe. We are owned and managed by our principals—senior consultants whose selection is based on their technical, professional and business achievements.
Advisory Board Member TIm Paris CEO of RUARK Insurance Advisers based in New York are providing underlying reinsurance and product development to the project. Ruark Insurance Advisors, Inc. (RIA) is a member of The Ruark Companies. RIA provides full service reinsurance intermediary services, specializing in the annuity market.
Products covered include variable annuities, indexed annuities, fixed annuities and payout annuities.
