Chief executive Rob Hennin said the Ultimate Health and Ultimate Health Max products would provide cover for Pharmac and non-Pharmac/Mesafe approved drugs as well as a proactive health option.

“The proactive health option, offered as an add-on, is designed to complement the public health system for those seeking peace of mind around high risk health issues,” Hennin said.

“It provides cover for a range of health checks and health and well-being programmes without the need for referrals.”

Benefits apply for health screening tests such as prostate, bowel and heart screening; mole mapping, and eye, hearing and bone density tests, as well as allergy testing, vaccinations, dietitian and nutritionist consultations, gym memberships, and programs for weight-loss management and quit smoking programmes.

Hennin said it was designed to provide cover that New Zealanders would use.

“We want to make health insurance a more attractive proposition for Kiwis. It isn’t one-size fits all approach. We’re meeting the need for products that are affordable, accessible and offer true choice and flexibility to meet customers’ individual needs.”
