AMP managing director Jack Regan says there is a "significant improvement" in the way financial advisers are giving advice.

In the 12 months to December 31 AMP put 62 people through its Academy. It ran 42 professional development clinics which were attended by 1152 advisers.

During the year it reviewed 3500 Statements of Advice and the company was "pretty happy with the standard," Regan says.
