Standish has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector and has held a number of senior roles including, most recently, head of personal insurance with specialist rural insurer FMG (formerly Farmers’ Mutual Group).

Prior to joining FMG, he was general manager sales with CIGNA International and business development manager with AXA New Zealand.

Plus4’s chairman Grant Uridge said: “Peter’s appointment marks the next stage in the evolution of Plus4; it is an investment in the group’s infrastructure as we look to double in size over the next five years.”

Standish will be responsible for the development and execution of a strategy to increase the scale of Plus4 in the risk insurance sector.

Plus4 now has more than 30 advisers working from 12 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill.

Uridge said: “Peter has a proven track record in managing insurance companies, is passionate about Plus4 and has an exceptional understanding of the industry. The fact that the group has been able to attract someone of Peter’s calibre has been noted in the industry.”
