IDS hires key industry figures

Compliance and adviser business consultancy firm Independent Development Solutions (IDS) has appointed two well-known industry figures.

The company, run by Barry Read, has hired Trevor Slater as general manager.

Slater was until recently general manager of Financial Services Complaints Ltd.

Read said: "IDS specialises in supporting financial advice businesses with compliance support and process development, which often involves assistance with issues, complaints and investigations. IDS will be extending these services to the financial services industry and helping businesses develop robust processes that prevent escalation of the issues."

Angi Mann has been hired as adviser relationship manager.

She is known to advisers for her work with the PAA, handling adviser training and education. She will expand IDS training and workshops.

Read said: "IDS is committed to helping New Zealand financial advisers provide great financial advice and develop profitable business models that will succeed in this ever-changing environment. By expanding the team with these key appointments, IDS looks forward to further supporting the needs of advice businesses in 2016."
