Monday, July 11th 2016, 12:40PM

He joined the Society in August 2004, was appointed to the position of health insurance chief executive in 2009 and went on to become the chief executive of the Southern Cross Medical Care Society in 2014.

He  will remain in the role until a suitable successor is found and transitioned.

Tynan said: “I am very proud to have been part of the Society throughout its transformation into the digital age, its growth into corporate wellness and its outstanding improvement in service levels but it’s now time to move on. You always hope to leave an organisation in better shape than when you joined, this is no doubt the case - so it’s a perfect time to pass the reigns."

Chairman Greg Gent said: “I would like to thank Peter for his dedication to the Society and wish him well in future career aspirations. His leadership and contributions have left the organisation in a very healthily position and ready for the next chapter in its evolution.”
