Weaver is to leave Melville Jessup Weaver at the end of next month and is heading to Europe for three months.

He said he had “nothing fixed” for his return.

Weaver recently authored a report into commission and insurance replacement business for the Financial Services Council, which led to ructions within the organisation.

Weaver was the last of the founding partners in MJW. He will be replaced by Ben Trollip, who worked at the firm between 2004 and 2012 but has been an investment consultant at Willis Towers Watson since.
