De Marigny is a familiar face to many advisers.

Sovereign said he had vast experience in the financial sector, including five years at Sovereign where he has held a number of positions leading both operations and sales including chief officer new business operations and general manager adviser distribution.

Prior to moving to New Zealand in 2010, he spent six years at Standard Bank (Africa’s largest bank) as managing director of their asset finance division. His responsibilities included risk and compliance, marketing, operations and sales. His market segment responsibilities included institutional, corporate, SME and retail.

“Pat has a passion for distribution and is well known to ASB and our advisers. His detailed knowledge of our distribution channels makes him a natural fit with this role,” said Nick Stanhope, Sovereign's chief executive.
