Bascand takes financial stability

Reserve Bank deputy governor Geoff Bascand will take over the financial stability function while Grant Spencer fills in as governor from September.

Governor Graeme Wheeler's term expires in September, three days before the election.

Spencer will take over in an acting role for six months.
