Advisers get automation boost

A new service will automate adviser processes to streamline the provision of insurance advice.

Thursday, February 15th 2018, 6:00AM

The team that operates QuoteMonster is launching AdviceMonster with a series of roadshows around the country.

It will allow advisers to upload their compliance documentation and access the data they glean from the QuoteMonster service.

Director Russell Hutchinson said QuoteMonster currently provided all the data about insurance that would go in an advice recommendation but advisers had their own separate compliance documents for disclosure and their scope of service, and templates for giving advice.

“We’re going to allow them to upload those and output things like the needs analysis they do in our system into their statement of advice.”

They could add the numbers from QuoteMonster into their templates.

Hutchinson said it was in response to demand from hundreds of advisers who had asked to be allowed the data to put into their statements of advice.

Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch roadshows will be held in April and there are regional workshops planned for the second half of March.

He said much of the discussion about automation focused on consumer level, and the output for clients.

But this was an example of automation for advisers to improve their business systems and processes. “It’s crushing some of the time required. Creating a statement of advice entirely by hand takes a lot longer.”
