Accuro disrupted

Friday, April 13th 2018, 10:15AM

Workers at insurance firm Accuro have been evacuated from their Wellington offices.

The insurer is one of the businesses at 79 Boulcott St, an office building that is being investigated after engineers expressed safety concerns.

It has been closed temporarily for a structural review.

Accuro is not able to answer calls made to its 0800 number.

“Over the next few days our priority is to identify and process urgent pre-approvals for surgical procedures, we will endeavour to contact these members as quickly as possible.  All other enquiries will be responded to as soon as we can,” the insurer said.

"At this point we don’t know how long the building will be out of action. We expect an update later today but meanwhile, Accuro’s  business recovery planning assumes indefinite loss of access to 79 Boulcott St," said chief executive Geoff Annals.

"From a business perspective, Accuro is closed today but will be up and running for business on Monday morning as usual. We apologise for the inconvenience this has meant for people doing business with Accuro today."
