Diversity Works NZ’s awards recognise organisations through the country that advocate for and uphold diversity in their workplaces.

Rival Wealth took the work-life balance category, ahead of large corporates such as ANZ, IAG, HSBC. KPMG and Xero.

‘We found that a life-work balance didn’t need to be a routine that looks the same week in week out, so we focused on what worked for us,” said co-founder Tim Fairbrother.

“And as we grew our clients learnt that our great team had incorporated flexibility into our thriving business to help these clients achieve their financial goals.”

Rival has grown from three to 18 staff but flexible hours still work well for the business.

“If someone is on unexpected leave or needs help with their work load, another staff member is there to help and support them. Flexibility has created a real family feel to our workplace.”
