Property Boom About To Cool Off

An independent economic research agency predicts the property boom is about to come off the boil.

House prices have risen 8.5 percent in the year to September according to the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research.
Senior Research Economist Doug Steel says that is expected to plateau during the middle of next year, as the net inflow of migrants slows.
He predicts growth of around 2.5% as all the factors which have been driving the economy weaken.
